Clinical Practice

Mr. Alistair Rowcroft is a General Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery and advanced interventional endoscopy. He manages both benign and malignant conditions of the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary system, including liver and pancreatic tumours, gallstones, bile duct stones, and pancreatitis. His practice also includes the management of a broad range of general surgical conditions such as hernias, adrenal tumours, reflux disease, and perianal disorders. Mr. Rowcroft is committed to delivering holistic, patient-centred care, with timely access for urgent referrals, including patients with suspected or confirmed cancer diagnoses. 

 

Procedures and Services

Mr. Rowcroft performs a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, and other advanced interventional endoscopic treatments. He consults and operates at Hollywood Private Hospital and provides private gastroscopy and colonoscopy services at Ramsay Private at Joondalup Health Campus. He also offers public endoscopy services through Joondalup Health Campus, providing convenient access to specialist surgical and endoscopic care for patients across the Perth metropolitan region. 

Background, Training and Research

Mr. Rowcroft completed his medical degree and early clinical training in Western Australia before undertaking General Surgical training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Victoria. He subsequently completed the ANZ Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Fellowship Program, training at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. To further expand his expertise, he undertook a prestigious Liver Transplant Fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Returning to Perth in 2024, he brings extensive local, national, and international experience in complex HPB surgery and advanced endoscopy. Mr. Rowcroft remains actively involved in research and education, with numerous publications in HPB surgery, general surgery, and surgical training. He contributes to national and international collaborative research initiatives and is committed to advancing surgical knowledge and improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice.
