After completing her urological training in Sydney and becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Ranasinghe undertook post-graduate fellowship training in Female, Functional and Reconstructive Urology at the University College of London Hospital (UCLH) before returning to Australia to pursue her interest in these subspecialties. She has a public hospital appointment at St George public hospital, operates privately at Hurstville Private Hospital and St George Private Hospital, and is a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales.
