Dr Sonigra was awarded the Fellowship of Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2012 following
extensive Neurology training in Melbourne, Hobart and Townsville. Before migrating to Australia in
2006, Dr Sonigra completed his MBBS and MD (Internal Medicine) in Ahmedabad, India. Dr Sonigra has
extensive experience in teaching Undergraduate and Post Graduate Medical Students as well as
Neurology Advance Trainees in various Tertiary Training Hospitals in Australia and India over last 20
years. Dr Sonigra is working as a staff specialist at The Prince Charles Hospital for last 10 years and in
private practice for last 11 years.
Dr Sonigra is an Adult General Neurologist with clinical interests in Headache disorders including
Migraine as well as treatment of various neurological conditions (Cervical Dystonia, Chronic Migraine,
Hemifacial Spasm, Blepharospasm, Axillary Hyperhydrosis etc) with Botulinum toxins (Botox/Dysport/
Xeomin). He also has extensive experience in managing common neurological conditions including
Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, TIA, Stroke, Myasthenia Gravis, Peripheral Neuropathy etc. He
also regularly reports EEGs (Electroencephalography) and NCS/EMGS (Nerve Conduction Studies/
Electromyography).
Dr Sonigra believes that active listening of patient’s medical issues and judicious use of diagnostic
techniques are the keys to successful diagnosis and treatment.
