About

Dr Jason Hockings is a Victorian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialist expertise in hip and knee and surgery. Jason completed his orthopaedic training in Victoria in 2021 and has since undertaken multiple post-fellowship training programs, including a Melbourne-based fellowship with Professor John O’Donnell in hip arthroscopy and anterior hip replacement and advanced training in Edinburgh, UK, with a focus on complex and revision joint replacements and robotic-assisted techniques. He later completed an advanced arthroplasty and sports fellowship on the NSW Central Coast.
 
His surgical interests include hip replacement via the direct anterior muscle-sparing approach, hip arthroscopy and sports hip surgery, arthroscopic sports knee surgery, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, and subvastus muscle-sparing advanced kinematically aligned knee replacement surgery. He is committed to delivering high-quality, individualised, patient-centred care across both public and private settings. His main focus is hip and knee surgery.
 

Dr Hockings has public appointments at St Vincent's and Box Hill Hospitals and consults in Albury Wodonga as well as in Melbourne at The Centaur Institute 132A Bridge Rd, Richmond. He operates regularly at Albury Wodonga Private Hospital as well as several Melbourne Hospitals.
 

He has strong family ties to the Albury Wodonga region and splits his time between Albury and Melbourne.

Education

Educational background and early career: Jason graduated from the University of Queensland in 2011 and spent five years working as a hospital and non-training orthopaedic registrar before beginning the Victorian Orthopaedic Training Program, which he completed in 2021.
